What do you need to graduate ?

18 Compuslory Credits

Students must earn the following compulsory credits to obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma:

4 Credits in English (1 credit per grade)

3 Credits in Mathematics (1 credit in grade 11 or 12)

2 Credits in Science 

1 Credit in Canadian History

1 Credit in Canadian Geography

1 Credit in the Arts

1 Credit in health and Physical Education

1 Credit in French as a second language

0.5 Credit in Career Studies

0.5 Credit in Civics

Plus one credit from each of the following groups:

NEW (Group 1)

Additional credit in English or French as second language, Native Language, classical, & International language, Social Sciences, The Humanities, Canadian and World Studies, Guidance & Career Education or Cooperative Education.

NEW (Group 2)

Additional Credit in Health and Physical Education, the Arts, Business Studies, French as second language, Cooperative education.

NEW (Group 3)

Additional Credit Science (Grade 11 or 12), Technological Education, French as a second language, Computer Studies, Cooperative Education.

Private Courses

Alpha High School Private Studies provide students in Grades 9 – 12 with a one-on-one learning experience in which teachers tailor the lessons to the needs and schedule of the individual student.
Whether you are looking to reach ahead, fill in gaps from prior coursework, or seek mastery of a subject, Alpha High School Private Studies allows you to earn a high school credit in our most personalized learning environment.

Repeat Courses

Alpha High School offers students an opportunity to repeat any high school course with a teacher in a private setting or through Alpha E-Learning Program, our online high school.
Students are only eligible to enroll in repeat courses if they have previously completed the course and attained a mark of at least 40%.

Summer School

Alpha summer school program offers highly personalized and experiential learning at many of our Ontario campuses.
We give our students the opportunity to enhance their education with intensive, month-long high school courses in a wide array of subjects, including mathematics, science, English, and humanities.

Advanced Placement

Upon arrival at Alpha High School, The Student will be asked to write the English, he/she will be placed in appropriate level of the Academic Preparation (ESL) program or regular high school grade.

Virtual Summer School

Alpha High School will continue to offer summer school programs. The format will be based on ensuring the health and safety of our students.
This means classes will be offered in-person, or leverage virtual classrooms, as we have for our full-time students to complete their academic year.
